As the owner of Damon Gettier & Associates, Realtors, I am proud to lead the premier real estate company in the Roanoke Valley. Beyond my professional life, I am happily married and a proud father of two. I enjoy spending quality time with my family, and I have a passion for hunting and football, which keep me active and grounded. Jay Garland
Realtor
Originally a Territory Manager for a worldwide wireless company, Jay became a licensed realtor in 2016 when that company for the first time did a round of layoffs. Jay had always enjoyed the buying and selling process he experienced during purchasing and renovating his own home w/ DGA and had remained best friends w/ Damon because of that process. He appreciated that he was able to communicate with his realtor and contractors during the entire process and have questions answered in a timely manner. After being laid off from the company during the pandemic, Jay decided to expand his career into buying homes for cash and renovating them. This is where he found his true passion in helping people during what could be the worst part of their lives in getting foreclosed, inheriting property, burdensome repairs or just needing/wanting to unload property. His favorite part of his career is meeting people and helping them to navigate whatever situation they present. He stands by his moral values of honesty and integrity, believing that everyone deserves to be told the truth and to be treated fairly and with respect in all situations.
Jay has called Roanoke home since 2008 and has lived all over the East Coast from New England to Florida. He met and married his wife, Ashley, in Roanoke and was blessed in 2022 with a son who completed their world.
During his free time, Jay enjoys attending church, watching movies, catching up on football games (Go PATS!) and working on his home and in his yard. He supports his community by volunteering at Habitat for Humanity, local food banks, and donating to the women’s and children’s shelter.
